Website Rationale
This website is meant to be a presentation of me as an artist and future artist educator. I am currently in my fourth year of school earning a BFA at the University of Cincinnati, focusing in ceramics while also earning my Art Education Licensure.
Born and raised in Ohio, I have always been attracted to the arts. After high school I ended up coming to college with the intent of becoming an elementary art teacher. During the years of being immersed in contemporary arts culture, I was introduced to professional critiques, as well as multiple mediums including drawing, painting, printmaking, digital art and sculpture. One fall semester I found myself in an intro ceramics studio. After this studio experience, I never left, for the last two years I have been enrolled in multiple ceramics studios. I love the medium as well as the community in the ceramics department here at DAAP. Collaborating and communicating with other ceramicists has been an incredible advantage to me and has helped me become a better teacher and artist. Eventually in my fourth year, I started the two-year Art Education Program here at DAAP and am on the path to earning my art education Licensure.
My hope and intention is that my website helps to portray who I am as a human being, as an artist, and as a future artist educator.
